Women’s Health physical therapy addresses women’s issues related to urology, the female reproductive system and the post-partum period.

Incontinence is a more common problem than people realize or want to discuss. It affects an estimated 25-45% of women.

These issues are not something that women just have to live with!

Ferrell-Whited provides cutting edge treatment techniques that are simple, yet highly effective.

Do you suffer from the following?

  • Urinary (stress) incontinence-leaking urine usually during physical activity or a cough/sneeze (even if small amounts)
  • Urinary frequency or urgency
  • Low Back Pain/Sciatica
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Pain or difficulty with sexual activity or penetration
  • Vulvodynia
  • Interstitial Cystitis
  • Overactive Bladder
  • Prolapse
  • Pregnancy related pain
  • Post-partum complications

Our Therapists will work with you and evaluate the alignment of your spine and pelvis. They will also be looking for areas of tightness or weakness in your pelvic floor muscles and surrounding low back and leg musculature.

The pelvic floor muscles can be evaluated by the therapist internally using gentle techniques as tolerated. Internal vaginal work may or may not be done on every visit and will only be done when necessary. We may also use equipment during our treatment including Biofeedback or a Pelvic Floor Stimulator to help you reach your goals.

We will educate you on your condition and instruct you on exercises for home when appropriate. Typical treatments are weekly and often patients will start to see dramatic improvements within 8 weeks*.  Your privacy will always be maintained in private treatment rooms.  You will never be treated by a male therapist.

* Individual results may vary.
